Amazon Quietly Raises the Free Shipping Minimum to $49

Screen Shot 2015-07-06 at 7.02.53 AM

Wow! Looks like Amazon has changed its free shipping policy on us! The free shipping minimum has been raised from $35 to a whopping $49! This is not going to be good news for everyone who casually shops without having Amazon Prime. I’m not sure how I feel about it since I have Prime and this change doesn’t really effect me but it’s going to make it harder for them to stay competitive. What do you all think?

Prime is the biggest rip off ever. I refuse to buy it simply because Amazon is doing everything they can to try to force me to. They delay shipments by a week or more when I order without Prime. I’ve come close to caving a few times, but it’s more of a principle thing now and THIS move, raising free shipping minimums quietly, means I don’t care if I have to pay a little more elsewhere, I WILL NOT shop at Amazon again.

It will make a big difference to me as I will not be shopping as much with Amazon. I have already reduced the amount that I shop there. I don’t want to pay for their new drones or hub center here in Nashville. Prime is not a good choice for me either. I also can find what I need at other merchants and had rather buy from them and be sure I can return easily if needed. Some marketplaces in Amazon do not back up their claims of easy returns.

Bigger they get; the less they care. . .

It’s all good since I figured out they allow “adult children” on your parents accounts! Thanks mom

As far as I am concerned they will keep it. One of our local stores a couple miles from me will let me order from them and they ship it to the store and I can pick it up for no shipping at all. The only requirement is that I pay for it in advance. There in no spending limit. My money will go there.
