Went top mine today and they refused to take $1.00 coupons they said they will only take up to 75 cent coupons. That isn’t what I am reading above. What kind of experiences did other people have today?

haven’t went yet, but looking forward to seeing what deals I can snatch up. did you take a copy of the policy with you? sometimes a manager likes to try and make their own rules. just like at Walmart they tried to tell me they don’t take BOGO, I showed them their coupon policy and a not so happy customer attitude that I had to wait while they chit chatted. The cashier called over her manager and without hesitation said no…..guess what I got both items for FREE!!!

The worst couponing experience ever! I’ve been doing this for over a year. They had no clue how to follow their own policy and didn’t know how to read a coupon. I could only purchase one brand per transaction so they wouldn’t let me use my $2/2 coupons. Then they insisted I had to buy what’s pictured on the coupon instead of reading the coupon which stated “any” product. Ugh! Very frustrating!

My dollar tree was awesome..even though the pic was of vitamens it said ANY disney item and they looked and pondered over it but took them anyway (for the sandwich bags) she said she would ask her GM and make sure but for now mine was good. I find you get further with kindness and the (oh i didnt know) approach than with the I”M right approach.

I drove 30 miles to shop at store. I had two coupons both for same item. which would be two purchases and 1 transaction. Was told I could only use one coupon. Would not do another transaction so I could use my other coupon. I was buying several other items that I didnot have coupons that I would be using.

Wal-Mart is getting worse about taking coupons….especially “free” item coupons. They are really starting to get picky. Also, I had overage and the CSM tried to tell me that they do not “overpay” on items anymore. They changed their corp. policy. I had the policy with me and she still would not give me my overage. I have gone in the last 3 weeks and have had 2 managers tell me that they do not price match to CVS anymore if the ad reads “with card”. That’s CRAP! They always match…. Is anyone else having problems with Wal-Mart?

I like going through the self checkout with my coupons!!

I have been couponing for years and have been so frustrated lately. It’s always a fight to check out. Today at Dollar tree was no different. Even with the coupon policy in my hand they would not take any 1.00/1 coupon if it made the item free. So so frustrating

wemt to mine last sat. and they told me i can only get 1item with coupon.I could not use multiple coupon on multiple items (6 softsoap and 6 coupons) in a transaction..but it does not say that in the policy. am i reading it wrong?

    • BRIAN November 18, 2012, 7:08 PM

It does say management can limit quantities! If you have problems with 1.00 coupons call corporate office right away and get the store number and managrs name! they get reimbursd anyways, i dnt know what their deal is!

went to dollar tree tonight and had a coupon for $1 dollar off any 2 hefty slider bags. They told me they didn’t accept coupons that state “any”. What a joke. I left without making any purchase and will not go back.

Dollar Tree staff needs to be educated on how to use coupons….period! Most of the workers look like they are so unhappy and have attitudes. When I tried to point out, as printed on the actual coupon, the fact that I am allowed to use up to two like coupons, the lady was very rude and said that she was only going to allow one.

DOLLAR TREE! IF YOUR STAFF DOES NOT PUSH THE COUPONS THROUGH, WHAT IS THE SENSE IN ADVERTISING THAT YOU ARE ACCEPTING COUPONS!!!

now that 2 like coupons is JUST INTERNET COUPONS and not MANUFACTURER COUPONS!

  • Sue November 17, 2012, 6:51 PM

I’ve had the same problems as Mary had with Dollar Tree accepting coupons. Apparently the staff never received any training, and this last cashier had a real attitude. I used the Hefty Slider Bags coupons, and she not only made me split it into two transactions, she said that she couldn’t give $1.50 off because they would be free, she could only give me $1.00 making each box $.50 instead of $.25. She had a real attitude, and complained that I was supposed to tell her that it had to be two separate transactions. If she can’t do her job and pay attention, she shouldn’t be working there.

they mght just do away with coupons all together! i went to krogers and they just give you that look when you come in store with coupons!! that BS

    • Donna November 20, 2012, 9:39 AM

I think they will eventually stop allowing coupons all together at any store. It’s because of that show extreme couponing! Those people make couponers look bad. As long as your not going into the store and wanting to walk out with 4 pallets full of 500 vitamin waters and dog food you should be good. I am a stay at home home, my 22 month old baby had to have emergency surgery and now we have alot of hospital bills to pay and on top of that christmas and his birthday is next month. I am just using what the manufacturer gives it’s customers to save money on their products so they can continue to buy their products. I don’t know what is wrong with these cashiers and managers but they need to be educated on how a coupon works and the different types of coupons there are. They all think your scaming the store when something turns out to be free or pennies on the dollar. In all your just a smart shopper that waited until that item was on sale and then was smart to use a coupon on top of that. IT DOES HAPPEN CASHIERS, AND THEIRS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. I usually run across a “gung-ho” cashier who thinks they are helping the store to stop a scamer or something, and I usually put them in there place! I think the dollar tree should not accept coupons, if your going to be that rude and stupid about it then don’t accept them. And watch the business you will lose right along with that. Dumb asses
